One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H.C. SMITH / ALEXA / D.C.", circa 1835, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated around the shoulder with four large conjoined tulips. Three chips to exterior of rim. Tiny chips to molding below rim. A 1" in-the-firing surface chip. A minor, 1/2" in-the-firing surface chip near base. A 2 1/2" salt drip near base. Base chips.
