Two-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Stamped "NB", Nelson Bass, Lincoln County, NC, circa 1880, ovoid jar with flattened rim and applied lug handles, the surface covered in a streaky olive-green alkaline glaze. Impressed "NB" on one handle and incised "2" at shoulder. A 1 1/4" rim chip. Two glaze drips to one side. Two chips to signed handle. Two minor chips to opposite handle.
