Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Central PA origin, second half 19th century, a one-gallon jug with cobalt tulip decoration, stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA", circa 1865, paired with a one-gallon ovoid jar with stylized cobalt floral blossom, attributed to the Sipe Pottery, Williamsport, PA, circa 1880. Jug in excellent condition with a minor base chip and a short line where spout meets handle. Jar in as-made condition with an in-the-firing dry area on front, a slightly-warped rim, and two shallow in-the-firing contact marks to rim.
