Six-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "P.H. SMITH", Akron, OH, circa 1860, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a tulip plant featuring two blossoms. Brushed cobalt highlight over maker's mark and capacity mark. Horizontal spider lines to base area. A tiny rim chip on reverse.
