One-Gallon Stoneware Batter Pail with Cobalt Bird Decoration, attributed to the Whites Pottery, Utica, NY, circa 1870, ovoid form with tubular pouring spout and wood-and-wire bail handle, decorated with a slip-trailed design of fan-tailed bird perched on a stylized branch. A small chip to handle on reverse. Some glazed-over chipping to interior of spout.
