Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Impressed Decoration, possibly Frederick Carpenter, Boston, MA, early 19th century, highly-ovoid jug with footed base and tooled spout, decorated around the shoulder with impressed and cobalt-highlighted floral motifs. Base with dipped iron-oxide decoration. Impressed "3" below spout. Long restored crack on front, extending onto underside. A small spout chip. Two red-colored base chips.
