Small-Sized Stoneware Jug with Iron-Oxide Decoration, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN", Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, circa 1812-1827, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with dipped iron-oxide slip to upper body, handle, and base. Potted in a petite size and featuring strong iron decoration, this jug is among the finest examples of Charlestown stoneware that we have ever offered. Essentially as-made condition with some shallow in-the-firing roughness to base. H 7 1/2".
