Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Tankard Pitcher, Stamped "S. BELL & SON / STRASBURG", VA origin, circa 1890, cylindrical pitcher with footed base, tooled shoulder, and flared rim, the surface decorated with streaks of copper and manganese applied over cream-colored slip and covered in a clear lead glaze. Impressed with S. Bell & Sons maker's mark at shoulder. Spout chips. Wear to rim, handle, and base. Small surface flakes. Hairlines to base area. Significant exfoliation to interior base area. H 9 1/2".
