Rare Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Stamped "T.F. CONNOLLY/ MANUFACTURER / NEW BRUNSWICK NJ", circa 1875, ovoid pitcher with tooled midsection and semi-squared rim, decorated with brushed swags flanking the cobalt-highlighted maker's mark. Brushed script "2" to spout. Scarce maker's mark with desirable form and size. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor decades ago; ex-Skinner, Inc., Rogers Collection. A spout chip, a minor spout nick, and a chip to side of rim.
