One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Flowering Urn Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS BINGHAMTON N.Y.", circa 1875, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of three flowers emanating from a pedestal-based urn, underscored by a looping-line ground. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Two flakes on interior of rim, one with a 4 1/2" crack descending from it, visible on front of jar. A glazed-over chip to one handle. An in-the-firing chip to bottom edge on front. Exfoliation to underside.
