Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Freehand Cobalt Decoration, probably Boughner Family, Greensboro, PA, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with semi-squared rim and tooling to body and shoulder, decorated with a freehand stripe flanked by horizontal graduated swags above an ornately-scrolled "2", flanked by vertical graduated swags. Additional freehand stripe below rim. Excellent condition with a faint, approximately 3 1/2" line to right of freehand "2", which is not visible on interior, as well as some light staining on right side of jar.
