One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Manhattan, NY origin, probably Crolius Family, circa 1800, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a brushed foliate design in the Crolius style. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Very nice condition with in-the-firing flaws, including a glazed-over flake to lower handle terminal, a small glazed-over base chip, a 3/4" in-the-firing ping to underside, and an in-the-firing contact mark to front.
