Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Foliate Decoration, Manhattan, NY origin, circa 1800, ovoid jug with footed base and heavily-tooled spout, decorated an incised and cobalt-highlighted foliate design featuring splayed leaves. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A large area of in-the-firing adhered clay to right side of jug's front. An in-the-firing lime ping on front. A large curving Y-shaped crack on front. Base chips.
