One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. NORTON & CO. / BENNINGTON, VT", circa 1860, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Light wear to surface. A small in-the-firing surface chip near base on left side of jug.
