Small-Sized Stoneware Jug with Iron-Oxide Decoration, attributed to Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, circa 1805, highly-ovoid form with footed base and tall, narrow neck with tooled accents. Top and bottom of jug dipped in reddish-brown iron-oxide slip. Exceptional size with strong dipped decoration. Very good condition with two spout chips and a tiny nick to interior of spout. Some faint crazing to surface. A very minor, slender in-the-firing flake to foot of jug. H 6 1/4".
