Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Bird Motif, Stenciled "T.F. REPPERT. / GREENSBORO. PA", circa 1880, tapered jar with rounded "wax sealer" rim, the front decorated with a stenciled design of a bird with raised wing, perched on a branch, surrounded by T.F. Reppert maker's stenciling. Some wear to cobalt. Two small stenciled tulip motifs above. A small chip and some wear to interior of rim. Minor wear to inner wax sealer rim. Red crayon notation on underside. H 9 3/4".
