One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Stenciled Shield Motif, Stenciled "J. HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO. PA", circa 1875, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, featuring a large stenciled cobalt shield flanked by flowers, bearing the stenciled signature, "J. HAMILTON / & CO. / GREENSBORO. PA". Provenance: Collection of Harry Meyer, McDonald, PA. Excellent, as-made condition with a minuscule spout nick and in-the-firing jug stacker marks to shoulder.
