Scarce Glazed Redware Jug, Stamped "JOHN M SAFFORD", Monmouth, ME, mid 19th century, cylindrical jug with heavily-tooled shoulder, the surface covered in a lead glaze over an orange ground, including some opacity to the glaze at the shoulder and a streaked area of glaze to the jug's front. Impressed at shoulder with John M. Safford makers' mark. Three small glaze flakes to shoulder. Wear to spout. Base chips. H 8".
