Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Elaborate Rochester, NY Advertising, attributed to John Burger, Rochester, NY, circa 1860, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, the front featuring the extensive impressive and cobalt-highlighted advertising, "T WEDDLE & SONS / MANUFACTURERS OF / LINSEED OIL / DEALERS IN / PAINTS GLASS SHELF HARD WARE / FRONT ST. ROCHESTER / ROCHESTER". A tight 2" inverted Y-shaped line, extending through a small surface chip or ping, visible on jug's left side. Some mostly minor in-the-firing contact marks to surface.
