Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. BURGER, JR. / ROCHESTER, NY", circa 1885, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a flowering plant with striped details to the blossom and leaves. Slip-trailed "2" to shoulder. Light cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Several rim chips. A 1 1/8" horizontal crack in right handle. A chip to left handle. A 1" chip to underside at edge.
