Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Inkwell, New York State origin, early 19th century, cylindrical form with raised opening and two pierced quill holes, the entire top surface and shoulder covered in cobalt slip. A 1" hairline down side of inkwell, extending across underside and 1" up opposite side. Additional, shorter lines to side and/or underside. Shallow base chips. A few small, shallow chips to shoulder. H 1 3/8" ; Diameter 3 1/8".
