Very Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Applied Angel and Incised Floral Decorations, attributed to the Wingender Pottery, Haddonfield, NJ, late 19th century, ovoid pitcher with footed base and narrow collar, the front decorated with a molded and cobalt-highlighted design of an angel holding a shield, inscribed "PRO=SIT", flanked by incised and cobalt-highlighted floral designs. Collar and base with coggled and cobalt-highlighted banding. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a recently-surfaced GA collection. Restoration to spout. Two small restored chips to left side of rim. Restoration to area of one shoulder of angel.
