Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, American, 19th century, a two-gallon churn with brushed floral motif, Ohio origin, paired with a two-gallon jar with horizontal foliate decorations, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA. Churn with chips to interior and exterior of rim, as well as inner rim for lid, and a thin 5" crack from rim on reverse. Jar with rim chips and an in-the-firing surface chip near base.
