Two Pieces of New Jersey Stoneware, 19th century, a rare three-gallon ovoid jar with brushed cobalt floral decoration, stamped "JOHN H. OSBORN / NEWARK POTTERY; paired with a rare two-gallon jug with slip-trailed tulip motif, stamped "J.M. PRUDEN / ELIZ-TOWN-NJ". Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, purchased by the consignor decades ago. Jar with hairlines to underside, a shallow flake and minor chip to interior of rim, and some fry to cobalt. Jug in excellent, essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing flake to underside and roughness to top of spout.
