One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Swag Decoration, attributed to David Parr, Jr., possibly in partnership with Thomas W. Keesee, Richmond, VA, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated around the shoulder with brushed cobalt swag decoration. A 3" inverted Y-shaped hairline from rim. A minor nick to shoulder molding. Two smooth, in-the-firing contact marks at base.
