Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "JAMES HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO. / PA.", circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a freehand stripes, stylized stenciled designs, and a stenciled "3" flanked by flourishes at base. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Essentially as-made condition with some fry to cobalt and minor wear to one handle.
