Copper-Glazed Redware Jug, New England origin, early 19th century, ovoid jug with footed base, flared spout, and heavily-ribbed handle, the surface covered in a green lead-and-copper glaze with manganese daubs to shoulder. Includes turned, antique cork stopper with black-painted surface. Excellent color. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a long-term Wilmington, DE collection. Spout wear. A chip or possible in-the-making dent to interior of spout. Minor wear to handle. A long in-the-firing contact mark to front. H (excluding stopper) 8".
