Two Pieces of Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware, PA and WV origin, circa 1875, a two-gallon jug with stenciled foliate and star motifs, stenciled "HAMILTON & / JONES, / AGENTS, / GREENSBORO, / PA", paired with a one-gallon jar with stenciled foliate motif, stenciled "A. CONRAD. / SHINNSTON / W.VA.". Unusual "AGENTS" stenciling to Hamilton & Jones jug. Provenance: From an over forty-year private collection. Jug with restoration, including some paint which barely touches left edge of "G" in "GREENSBORO" and leaf below, as well as some unrestored lines to surface. Conrad jar with wide top-to-bottom crack on right side.
