Three Huntington, Long Island Stoneware Jugs with Cobalt Floral Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1854-1870, a one-gallon ovoid jug, stamped "BROWN & BROS / HUNTINGTON, L.I."; a two-gallon ovoid jug, stamped "BROWN. BROTHERS / HUNTINGTON. L.I"; and a one-gallon unsigned, ovoid jug, attributed to F.J. Caire, Huntington, Long Island. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. Shortest jug with restored area (in-the-firing contact mark?) to shoulder, with some touch-up to cobalt in this area. Two-gallon jug in excellent, essentially as-made condition with a small piece of adhered clay to handle. Attributed Caire jug with a line on underside and some restoration to handle.
