Two Large-Sized Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Floral Decorations, Stamped "H.B. PFALTZGRAFF / YORK, PA", circa 1870-1889, both of similar ovoid form, a six-gallon example with rare and elaborate floral spray featuring two large tulips, paired with a five-gallon example with hanging floral motif. Six-gallon jar with significant exfoliation and a wide top-to-bottom crack from rim on reverse, extending onto underside, a few in-the-firing base chips, a short line at base on reverse, and a small chip to interior of rim. Five-gallon jar with a 7" Y-shaped line to reverse, a 2 1/2" line to front, lines to underside, and staining.
