Six-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H.B. PFALTZGRAFF / YORK, PA", circa 1870-1889, large-sized, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and flattened rim, decorated with a brushed design of a flower hanging from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Exfoliation to rim. A rim chip and stone ping to rim, both on side of jar above one handle. A few tiny, minor surface flakes to base. Interior with water glass staining and exfoliation to Albany slip.
