Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Floral Decoration, probably Albany, NY origin, early 19th century, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a large incised and cobalt-highlighted design of a flower with scallop-edge petals. Incised details to edges of petals and interiors of leaves. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Restoration to flower design. Base chips. A small, shallow spout chip. A 7/8" glazed-over line to base. Some typical firing flaws to surface.
