Small-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Rose Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and "wax sealer" rim, decorated with Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling above a stenciled design of a rose with leafy stem, above a geometric flourish. A few shallow chips and wear to interior of rim. Heavy chipping and wear to inner wax sealer rim. A few minor base nicks. H 6 1/8".
