Extremely Rare Cobalt-and-Manganese-Decorated Stoneware Figure of a Lion, attributed to Wallace and Cornwall Kirkpatrick, Anna, IL, circa 1880, molded figure of a reclining lion on rectangular base with stippled surface and relief leaf border. Manganese highlights to lion's mane. Heavy cobalt and manganese highlights to leaf border, creating a colorful blue and purple decoration. Outstanding form.
