Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "R.W. RUSSELL / BEAVER, PA", circa 1860, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, tall collar, and applied lug handles, the surface coated in slip and decorated with an undulating, leafy vine. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Very nice condition with an approximately 3" line on underside, continuing approximately 3" up base of jar on reverse.
