Scarce Three-Gallon Albany, NY Stoneware Advertising Jug with Cobalt Eagle and Banner Motif, stamped "R. O'CONNELL / ALBANY", New York State origin, attributed to W.J. Seymour, Troy, NY, circa 1860, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a spread-winged eagle holding a banner in its beak. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Significant wide cracks, which are glued, extending from reverse, onto sides, one of which extends onto front.
