Two Pieces of J. & E. Norton, Bennington, VT Stoneware, circa 1855, a two-gallon crock with cobalt rooster decoration, paired with a two-gallon crock with unusual radiating floral motif, both stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.". Both with damage and significant restoration. On the rooster crock, the restoration does not touch the decoration, although remnants of varnish are visible covering it. The floral-decorated crock appears to have been broken into pieces, with some small areas of touch-up to decoration. The restorations are peeling on both.
