One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, ovoid pitcher with footed base, flared collar, and tooled rim, decorated around the midsection with a horizontal foliate motif. Swag decoration flanking the spout and additional foliate designs to each side of the collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Professional restoration to area of base. A 2 1/2" hairline on underside, continuing 2 1/2" up base on reverse. A faint 4" hairline from base on front. A tiny spout nick.
