Two Two-Gallon Parkersburg, WV Stoneware Jugs, circa 1885, both with stenciled cobalt "2" surrounded by geometric motifs, one featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "J. Busch. Liquors / Parkersburg, W.V.", attributed to A.P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, WV, the other featuring the maker's stenciling, "A.P. Donaghho / Parkersburg, W.V.". Busch jug with spout chip, a series of in-the-firing hairlines to edge of handle, and a horizontal hairline through handle. Donaghho jug in as-made condition with two in-the-firing chips / contact marks to shoulder, an in-the-firing recessed spot to side of jug, a shallow in-the-firing flake to underside at edge, and a salt drip to reverse.
