Two Pieces of Stoneware, Stamped "A.E. SMITH / PECK SLIP, NY", circa 1860, a four-gallon ovoid jar floral decoration and a four-gallon cylindrical jar with wreath-like brushwork. Both with cobalt highlights to the maker's marks. Ovoid jar in essentially as-made condition with a few in-the-firing pings to surface and some light staining. Cylindrical jar in essentially as-made condition with a slumped rim, a shallow chip to underside at edge, a 2" in-the-firing surface line to front, not visible on interior, and minor in-the-firing flaws to reverse.
