Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Bottles, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, both with heavy cobalt slip application to spout neck, one impressed "HANCOCK & MELVINS' BEER", the other impressed "E-FERRIS". Hancock & Melvins' bottle with two chips to interior of spout. E-Ferris bottle in excellent, essentially as-made condition with some in-the-firing roughness to cobalt, a small in-the-firing iron ping to reverse, and some in-the-firing crazing to base and underside. H (of Ferris bottle) 10 1/2".
