Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird-on-Stump Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1880, large-sized, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with fan-shaped tail, perched on a stump with shrubs below. Two chips to interior of rim. Some fry to cobalt.
