One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Freehand Cobalt Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a large fuchsia vine design bearing three blossoms and graduated leaves. Freehand stripes above and below. A finely-decorated example. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 9 3/4".
