Rare Large-Sized Redware Charger with Slip Decoration, Philadelphia, PA origin, early 19th century, with coggled edge, the interior heavily-decorated with crossed, swag-like, and dashed trails of yellow slip. This charger is exceptional in its size, the largest 19th century redware example we have ever offered. A large Y-shaped crack from rim. Wear to interior. Areas of light exfoliation to underside near edge. Shallow chips to bottom edge of rim. Some minor wear to top edge of rim. Diameter 17".
