Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "RIEDINGER & CAIRE / POUGHKEEPSIE NY", circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird with fan-shaped tail, perched on a stylized branch. Rim chips. A small in-the-firing base chip to reverse. A few minor spots of fry to cobalt.
