Two Pieces of Milburn Stoneware, Alexandria, VA origin, third quarter 19th century, a two-gallon cylindrical jar, stamped "B.C. MILBURN / ALEXA", decorated on the front with a brushed cobalt floral motif in the Alexandria style, the reverse with two flowers extending around the shoulder; paired with a half-gallon undecorated jar, stamped "W. LEWIS MILBURN". B.C. Milburn jar with significant Y-shaped crack on side, extending onto reverse and partway onto front, as well as a rim chip, a small in-the-firing base chip, and a small post-firing base chip. W. Lewis Milburn jar with a 2 1/2" hairline from rim and a chip to underside at edge.
