Two Rare Pieces of Strasburg, VA Stoneware, circa second half 19th century, a one-gallon cylindrical jar, decorated with four groups of lightly-brushed cobalt swags around the shoulder, stamped "T. GRIM / STRASBURG, VA", circa 1880; paired with a smaller semi-ovoid jar, stamped "KEISTER & SONNER / STRASBURG, VA", circa 1866-1869. Grim jar with Y-shaped crack on underside, part of which continues approximately 6 1/2" up front of jar, as well as two parts of crack continuing as two short lines onto base. Additionally, a 3 3/4" hairline from rim and small rim chips to Grim jar. Keister & Sonner jar with several rim chips and hairlines to underside and base.
