Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird-on-Stump Decoration, Stamped "RIEDINGER & CAIRE / POUGHKEEPSIE NY", circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird with fan-shaped tail, perched on a stump flanked by shrubs. Very nice condition with a minor handle chip, a tiny rim chip, and a small area of in-the-firing fry to base.
