Rare Slip-Decorated "1776" Commemorative Plate, Pennsylvania origin, probably Berks County, circa 1876, with coggled edge, the interior decorated with manganese and olive-brown slip lines flanking the date "1776". Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased years ago at a Montgomery County, PA estate auction. Wear and small chips to rim. Light surface wear to lead glaze on interior. No glaze flakes. Diameter 8 3/8".
