Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, PA and VA origin, circa 1865-1880, an approximately one-gallon, ovoid jar with cobalt floral-and-swag motif on front and reverse, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA; paired with a half-gallon cylindrical jar, stenciled "E.B. TAYLOR / Richmond, Va.", attributed to A.P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, WV. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, from a long-term private collection. Remmey jar with heavy chipping to rim and base, as well as some wear to shoulder. Taylor jar with some in-the-firing dryness to surface and some tiny flecks of white paint, in otherwise excellent condition.
